| Purpose: The purpose of this module is to equip students with the managerial, financial, and organisational skills required to manage horticultural enterprises effectively. The module therefore focuses on the application of general management, project management, and contract management principles in real-world horticultural contexts. Students who complete this module will be equipped with practical and decision-making competencies and be able to engage critically with management frameworks and apply them to real-world horticultural scenarios, preparing them for supervisory and management roles in the horticultural industry. Key areas of learning include applying core management functions (planning, organizing, leading, and controlling), managing horticultural projects through all phases, and developing, negotiating, and overseeing horticultural contracts. The module supports the Diploma in Ornamental Horticultureメs goal of developing professionals who can integrate traditional management practices with modern tools to sustainably advance the green industry. |
