Purpose: The purpose of this module is to provide students and prospective professionals in the ornamental horticulture industry with advanced knowledge and skills regarding a set of business process management (BPM) methods, tools and techniques to discover, analyse, re-design, execute and monitor business processes within an ornamental horticulture crop production facility. This is achieved through a combination of BPM theoretical underpinnings, simulated case studies and development of relevant business process models specifically to produce ornamental plant crops. Students who complete this module will be able to: Examine business process management and evaluate the importance thereof in an ornamental crop production facility. Analyse the importance and application of business process management lifecycles in an ornamental crop production facility Distinguish between different Business Process Management tools, models and control flow patterns that can be applied in an ornamental crop production facility. Apply the principles of business process management to develop a business process model for the production of a specific ornamental plant crop.
