Purpose: The purpose of this module is to equip students with an integrated knowledge of the hospitality sector within the tourism industry. Qualifying students can demonstrate an understanding of the importance of the hospitality industry in tourism and the importance of entrepreneurship in starting a hospitality business. Qualifying students can select an appropriate and contextually relevant type of hospitality establishment in order to acquire an in-depth and applied understanding of the recent developments in the designing of accommodation establishments, food and beverage services, front office operations, housekeeping operations, uses of robots and technology in the hospitality industry, and the environmental considerations for hospitality establishments.
