| Purpose: The purpose of this module is to introduce students to theories, principles and best practice of human settlements. The student will also know the stakeholders or role players involved in the process of providing housing to communities and assist them in understanding the power of politics in the process of providing houses. The module will assist students in developing their skills in the understanding of challenges facing human settlements in developing countries with special focus in South Africa, and also enable students to take note of possible sustainable development remedies or solutions in the provisioning of houses. |
