Industrial Engineering Research Project - HRIEN81

Honours Year module NQF level: 8 Credits: 36
Module presented in English Module presented online
Purpose: The purpose of this module is to allow students to critically analyse and apply mathematical and scientific principles that they have learnt in previous Industrial Engineering modules by researching a complex engineering topic. The topic should lead to an investigation or experimental study which is typical of what the graduate would encounter in an employment situation shortly after graduation. The student should explore the research literature, conceptualise experiments; obtain, analyse and interpret experimental data; draw valid conclusions and understand the limitations of applying these conclusions to situations or contexts outside of the controlled experimental set?up. The objective of this research project is to produce new knowledge or insight into a phenomenon. This module is part of the Bachelor of Engineering Technology Honour's degree in Industrial Engineering. By completing this project the student will also be equipped to engage in independent and life?long learning through well?developed learning skills.
