| Purpose: The purpose of this module is to equip students with basic concepts and techniques of quality and process control, by use of statistics as a tool to manage conformance to specifications of operation processes products and processes. Students will learn how best to collect data, summarize or describe data, and draw formal inferences and practical conclusions on the basis of data (all the while recognizing the reality of variation). The module also provides a foundation in essential qualitative methods that will be required in others core module still to come, such as Quality Assurance 11, Operation Research Ill and Quality Assurance IV, and for several study research projects. |
