Purpose: This module will provide students with a theoretical framework dealing with an overview of the present security scenario in South Africa. It will equip them to apply the basic operational security (risk control) principles and measures that security supervisors (junior managers) must be able to apply for the security system to function appropriately in an industrial security environment. Students who complete this module will be able to apply the concepts of private and in-house security in each scenario. They will also be able Identify and analyse aspects of security risks, acts of terrorism. Furthermore, those who complete this module will be able to examine the role of SASSETA and SIRA. Explore the vulnerability of an industry to crime.
