Purpose: Syllabus/Content Topics:
This module covers information literacy programmes relating to library services for children and youth. The purpose of this module is to help students gain the competence and confidence and the practical skills to develop and implement information literacy and information skills programmes in support of the school curriculum, for children and youth, in different types of library and information services (LIS). Students can apply the theory of information literacy and the development of progressive skills programmes. Students are able to apply information processes in designing information literacy programmes and to integrate information and media use into the school curriculum. Students can also analyse and interpret information skills and strategies to assist children and youth to locate and retrieve information, using various media and information sources, to solve information problems and comply with the ethical use of information |
