| Purpose: The purpose of this module is to deepen and refine existing knowledge, skills and values, so that the student will be able to investigate and solve specific crimes successfully. The module provides students with an in-depth theoretical knowledge of investigative principles and is aimed at enabling the student to determine the true events that have taken place in a particular case, uncover all possible information, and present as much evidence as possible to a court of law. This module will be of particular use to those in the public, private and corporate investigation environments. Students accredited with this module will be able to Identify, use and control appropriate resources in the solving of crimes as well as apply the necessary investigative methods, techniques and procedures to conclude an investigation successfully. The principles of Ubuntu, Social responsibility, Graduateness, Human rights, Humanizing the law and Africanisation are enthused in the learning material and assessment practices.
