Purpose: This module forms part of the PGD (business administration). The qualification aims to provide students with competencies to function effectively on entry and middle management level. Students who complete this module will be able to lead and manage individuals and teams and contribute to leading organisations effectively. More specifically, the purpose of the module is to gain knowledge, values, attitudes, skills, and competencies to analyse and solve problems related to current leadership challenges in the workplace. Specific reference is made to leadership theories of the 21st century, the relationship between leadership and organisation behaviour including matters such as employee motivation, conflict resolution, transformation and cultural diversity as well as new forms of organisational design. The module provides competencies which will support further studies and applications in the fields of Business Administration and Business Leadership.
