| Purpose: The module is intended to empower students with knowledge of the following areas of Operations Management: Management of quality, quality control, aggregate planning and master scheduling, Operations management, Materials Requirements Planning (MRP), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), inventory management, Just In Time (JIT) and lean operations, supply chain management, scheduling, project management and the management of waiting lines.
The student will be able to develop skills by engaging with relevant Operations Management themes by means of analysis, synthesis, evaluation case studies, scenario planning and other simulated activities as well as the application of their knowledge to the work environment. Students should be able to critically evaluate relevant social issues and economic activities in South Africa and the African continent.
