Purpose: The purpose of this module is to ensure that a qualified student is able to select and apply a range of intervention techniques and strategies at the operational and tactical levels of organisations, in commerce and industry, resulting in optimising productivity and the quality of life. A typical role could be that of a work study officer. The scope of knowledge allows the student to identify and learn the competencies necessary for organisational effectiveness. All the topics taught in the module will allow the student to gain a detailed knowledge of the contents of this module. The student will gain an understanding of the methods and procedures and an ability to evaluate, present and communicate knowledge gained. It will also enable the student to evaluate performance in an organisation and gain the ability to work effectively in a team or group and take responsibility for decisions and actions within well defined contexts. Their newly acquired competencies should increase the student's potential of finding employment in commerce and industry and making a constructive contribution towards the organisation objectives. |
