Purpose: The purpose of learning in this module is to enable students to develop a well-rounded knowledge base of the principles, theories and practices pertaining to the retention and development of human and social capital for the purpose of improving organisational effectiveness. The qualifying student will be able to: critically evaluate the psychological principles and practices related to employee retention; analyse the principles and procedures related to employee reward and remuneration; juxtapose the difference between performance evaluation methods and procedures; critically evaluate the training and development system, including its elements, characteristics and methods; analyse the characteristics of career development in the organisational context; and critically reflect on the dynamics of employment relations in employee retention. |
