Recommendation: Students should register these modules: COC4701, COC4702, RMM4701 & PST4701 at the same time.
Purpose: Students who complete this module can critically discuss and interpret the different aspects of vegetation classification and description and use appropriate software to analyse vegetation data. Students will also be able to implement and recommend vegetation management strategies and monitoring programmes for natural areas. Students will furthermore be able to critically discuss the ecology and effect of fire and bush encroachment on ecosystems. This module provides critical knowledge on vegetation management and monitoring of ecosystems within southern Africa.
