Purpose: Students who complete this module can critically discuss and interpret the different aspects of vegetation classification and description and use appropriate software to analyse data. Students will also be able to implement and recommend vegetation management strategies and monitoring programmes for natural areas. Students will furthermore be able to critically discuss the ecology and effect of fire and bush encroachment on ecosystems. This module provides critical knowledge on vegetation management and monitoring of ecosystems within southern Africa. Students registering for this module are required to have regular access to a computer and the internet in order to download or read essential study material from the myUnisa module site and world wide web. This module will be presented online, and no study material will be posted for this module. |
