Purpose: It is a practical module for advanced and/or semi seasoned agricultural practitioners and as such the purpose of this module is to introduce such students to actual advanced standard 'Hands On' farm practices. Upon successful completion of this module, students will become advanced and/or semi seasoned agricultural practitioners who will be able to perform animal husbandry, crop husbandry and pertinent office management practices under minimum supervision whilst maintaining consistency with principles of profitable 'Good Agricultural Practices' (GAP). It is essential to point out that students who successfully complete this module will be ready to undertake the advanced Work Integrated Modules GPM2601 and GPM3701 wherein they will be trained to perform profitable 'Good Agricultural Practices' under minimum supervision. For GPM2601 (i.e. Agricultural Management Practice 1) students will be expected to produce a crop species under minimum supervision from field to floor whereas for GPM3701 (i.e. Agricultural Management Practice 2) students will be expected to produce an animal species under minimum supervision from farm to floor.
