Purpose: The purpose of this module is to enable the student to apply scientific and engineering principles that they have learnt in previous modules to the design of chemical processes. The student should be able to perform full process mass and energy balances for a given flowsheet with allowance for chemical reaction, separation, heat exchange or other unit process. Student will size and cost various equipment, quantity the environmental impact of the process and incorporate safety and health issues into the design.
