Purpose: This module introduces learners in psychology to the collection of information in a structured manner. It thus serves as a resource in research and as a basis for psychological assessment in general. The purpose of this module is to develop skills and competencies amongst qualifying learners to be able to design data collection tools such as questionnaires that are sensitive to people's belief systems and can be implemented in multicultural settings. The module will equip learners with knowledge and understanding of the elements of survey development related to issues of language diversity, gender sensitivity and age appropriateness as understood by different cultures. Learners should furthermore master the principles and procedures related to the administration, analyses and interpretation of results amongst others to evaluate the properties of the questionnaire.
