Purpose: The purpose of this module is to introduce students to the chemistry and technology of wood preparation, chemical pulping and recovery of energy and chemicals in acid and alkaline pulping systems. The knowledge obtained in this module will enable the student to operate pulping processes to produce pulp at optimum levels of output and quality. This module is part of the Diploma in Pulp and Paper Technology.
