Real Analysis I - MAT2613

Under Graduate Degree Year module NQF level: 6 Credits: 12
Module presented in English Module presented online
Pre-requisite: MAT1613
Purpose: Students completing this module will be able to formulate proofs by developing the logic and reasoning skills required to express these proofs in mathematical language. The focus of this module is on the analysis of real valued functions of one real variable and the limiting processes underlying the analysis, as embedded in continuity, differentiation and integration. The module provides a solid background for those students intending to continue studies in mathematical analysis, deepen their understanding of calculus and assist them in gaining the competencies required for conducting rigorous mathematical proof. These skills are needed in the natural, mathematical and computer sciences.
