Purpose: The purpose of this module is to equip students with the competencies required to plan a logistics research paper and write up an acceptable research paper. This includes an undertaking of an extensive literature review; the development of a research instrument and motivating the choice thereof and to apply research methods to selected logistics research focus areas. The module provides a sound knowledge and practical orientation on how to conduct research in the logistics field. Specific emphasis is placed on developing skills and knowledge on the research process. The research paper covers, among other areas, strategic research planning concepts, principles, tools and best practices on how to conduct research in the subject field of logistics. Ultimately, the purpose of this module is to equip students with the competencies required to plan a logistics research paper and write an acceptable research paper.
