Purpose: The purpose of this module is to equip students with the skills, values and competencies in Social Psychology. Students should be able to explain, analyse and differentiate between the theoretical aspects of social perception, cognition, attitudes, prejudice, pro-social and antisocial behaviour and group behaviour. The module is designed to facilitate studentsメ acquisition of these competencies. Students should be able to apply the principles and practices of social psychology in areas such as
clinical psychology, health psychology, the psychology of work and in society in general. The module seeks to engage students with both fundamental and applied South African and International Social Psychological research findings. |
