Purpose: is to familiarise the learner with the need for health related social responses to HIV and AIDS and other debilitating diseases in Southern Africa. Social responses from governments, businesses, local communities, religious organisations, and civil society can ensure an integrated approach to the effective management of the socio-economic impact of HIV and AIDS in which the qualified student will play an important role.
