Purpose: The purpose of this module is to provide students with an advanced and systematic knowledge base, and to unpack security risk management within the South African, African and global context. This will allow students to engage with academic and professional discourses on the causes of crime within local and global contexts to prioritise critical security risks to be managed by organisations, governments, and other national and international bodies. Students will develop security risk management models specific to their local context by predicting and managing predisposing and precipitating factors, and how they impact on general crime prevention strategies. |
