Purpose: The primary purpose of this module is to equip students with knowledge and competencies that will enable them to make a difference by applying information and information systems to the advantage of the organization. It will further equip students with understanding of the value and uses of Management information systems to manage information, performance and various risks associated with supply chain thus enabling the use of various financial and non-financial tools to plan, measure and evaluate effectiveness and efficiency of the supply chain environment within an organisation. It also seeks to familiarize students with the theoretical background to managing information. It seeks to provide students with management overview of information systems technology with an emphasis on the operational management of information and information systems in the organisation with a focus on management issues. Furthermore, the strategic value of information and information systems will be pointed out throughout the module.
