Purpose: This module deals with Geometry in the Intermediate Phase. The module is aimed at providing students with a deeper understanding of basic geometrical concepts which underpins the development of deductive reasoning. Students who complete this module will be able to identify and describe characteristics of 2-D shapes and 3-D objects. They will understand the van Hiele theory on geometrical thinking. Transformation geometry forms the foundation of function concepts in higher grades.
