Purpose: The purpose of this module is to make students aware of the interrelations between the English language and the various contexts of its use (such as academic, professional, time, space and ethnocentric contexts). Develop students' ability to read, analyse, critique and problematise a wide range of texts critically, including a critical analysis of different digital genres and of texts produced in the Global South, which display elements of Africanisation, transformation, and decolonisation. Foster students' ability to write analytical essays in the English language and register that is appropriate to specific contexts, modes and purposes.
