Purpose: The purpose of this module is to enable students to develop an understanding of the basic principles of fluid flow, heat transfer and mass transfer, in order to apply these principles in solving practical problems. Elements of fluid flow, heat transfer and mass tranfer are present in nearly all process equipment, and thus it is important for all students of chemical engineering to master the fundamentals of these transport phenomena. This module is a part of the Advanced Diploma in Chemical Engineering qualification. The module provideds students with the engineering methods and tools to design chemical engineering unit operations.
