| Purpose: The module is compulsory and core for the Advanced Diploma in Civil Engineering. The purpose is to make students aware of the importance of transportation engineering and its influence on civil engineering. The student will gain valuable knowledge in transportation engineering including pavement and geometric design and define problems associated with different pavements and transportation systems. The students will also be able to provide a number of engineering solutions to the problems associated with different pavements and transportation systems.
The student will gain valuable knowledge in Intersection and Interchange design, different types of pavements, maintenance of pavements, and airport pavements.
Upon successful completion of the course the student should be able to work well in a real life work environment.
