Duwayne Anthony Kock, Senior Lecturer at Unisa presented his paper at the 16th Annual International Business Conference (IBC) held in Namibia
His paper, titled, “Environmental Management Accounting Systems as a Tool to Enhance the Environmental Performance of Companies in the South African Paper-Making Industry”, explores how management accounting plays a role in environmental performance and how systems can improve environmental performance, thereby contributing towards a greener planet. The study develops an exploratory framework that can be used by companies within an industry, that is highly paper-intensive and links to the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 13 of combatting climate change and its impacts through climate action.
