Our vision is to reposition and establish language, arts and culture education in higher learning, to create ground-breaking research in this field and to empower new and experienced teachers to enrich the quality of language, arts and culture education.
Our mission
The priorities of the Department of Language Education, Arts and Culture are to:
- Provide a student-centred teaching and learning experience, by responding to the language needs of multilingual communities
- Develop professional teachers who are skilled in classroom management, quality language teaching and learning, and assessment practice in multicultural, national and international educational institutions
- Create a conducive environment for language, arts and culture-related research, as well as innovation and community engagement
- Strengthen the teaching and learning of languages, arts and culture in schools.
