Please see a selection of our Junod Collection at eHIVE.
Dr Henri-Alexandre Junod (born in Switzerland, May 17, 1863 - died in Switzerland, April 22, 1934) was a missionary with the Suisse Romande. He worked in South Africa over three periods between 1899 and 1920. He wrote "The life of a South African tribe" in two volumes and it is recognised as one of the seminal anthropological works of its time. The museum houses a portion of his collection of objects, which he gathered during his time in Africa.
