Unisa researcher wins prestigious grant from WRC
Dr Hlengilizwe Nyoni, an instrument scientist and lab manager at the Institute of Nanotechnology and Water Sustainability, has received R500 000 from the Water Research Commission, which will result in the development of an all-inclusive toolbox for water quality assessment relevant to addressing water-related socio-economic issues.

Profound changes in how universities function
Former Unisan Dan Remenyi and present Unisan Shawren Singh are two of the editors of The University of the Future: Responding to Covid-19, published recently by ACIL (UK). The book asks the question, "Who could have imagined the upheaval of the first six months of 2020?" and addresses the extreme crisis that these higher education institutions currently face. Prof Mandla Makhanya, Unisa Principal and Vice-Chancellor, has contributed one of the chapters.
