The Mechanical Engineering Department is one of six departments in the Unisa School of Engineering which falls under the auspices of the College of Science, Engineering and Technology. Mechanical Engineers are equipped to be both creative and innovative within the various diverse environments they may find themselves in. In this digital era, our mechanical engineering graduates are well equipped to use both their technical and entrepreneurial skills to meet current and future developmental societal needs.

I am excited to welcome you to the Department of Mechanical, Bioresources and Biomedical Engineering of the College of Science, Engineering, and Technology at Unisa. Mechanical Engineers are significant in product design and manufacturing, maintenance, air- conditioning and refrigeration, bioresources and biomedical engineering. Mechanical engineering concerns various mechanical equipment, ranging from small items to large constructions such as aircraft, engines and turbines, railways, spacecraft, ships, vehicle engineering, and energy management.
The Department of Mechanical, Bioresources and Biomedical Engineering provides various academic programs tailored to our students' diverse desires, needs, and aspirations.
