The 2021 UNISA Open and Distance eLearning Virtual Conference

The University of South Africa (Unisa) will host its Open and Distance eLearning Virtual Conference on the 4-6 August 2021, with the theme Open and Distance eLearning Virtual Conference -Mediating ODL in the advent of global crises” 

The aim of the conference is to encourage debates on the contemporary and new opportunities, challenges and models facing the open distance and e-learning (ODeL) in a globally connected digital era. 

This year theme seeks to generate debates and consider practical and sustainable solutions to ODel, teaching, learning and research in times of global crisis and pandemics, such as during the current of COVID-19 pandemic.  

Experts in various field of study will engage in discussion this include the following schoolers: 

  • Princess Masondo: Statistician in the School of Interdisciplinary Research and Graduate Studies. In her role Ms. Masondo ensures that Unisa postgraduate students are supported with statistics-related aspects of their studies, assisting the College of Graduate Studies to achieve excellence in research support 
  • Professor Monnye Mabelebele: Recognized by the National Research Foundation (NRF) as an emerging researcher who is showed an outstanding potential in animal nutrition research.  
  • Dr Chioma Blaise Chikere: Globally recognised by the NRF for her contribution to sustainable environmental ecorestoration in the Niger Delta 
  • Professor Peter Henzi recognized by the NRF as a highly rated and an internationally acclaimed researcher whose work makes him one of the leaders in his field of expertise.
