With over 350 exhibitors participating in this year's NAMPO exhibition, the event truly stood as a testament to the importance of agriculture in the Western Cape. The exhibition halls and open spaces were bustling with activity, featuring the latest in agricultural technology, machinery and innovations. Farmers, industry professionals and curious onlookers gathered to witness the future of agriculture unfold before their eyes.

Unisa once again exhibited at the annual event to market both formal qualifications and short learning programmes in the College of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences (CAES). This marked the first time that short learning programmes were exhibited at the event, a significant step in providing accessible education options to those interested in the agricultural sector. Lee-Anne Davis and Dennis Butler, staff members of the Unisa Western Cape Region and the Unisa Centre for Lifelong Learning (UCL), respectively, were present throughout the exhibition to engage with visitors and highlight the educational opportunities available.

Despite inclement weather during the event, the spirit of NAMPO remained undeterred.

Interest in the agricultural qualifications offered by CAES was exceptionally high. Visitors recognised the value of acquiring formal qualifications and undertaking short learning programmes in an ever-evolving industry.

In a heartwarming display of support, the 150th anniversary branding of Unisa attracted numerous alumni who were delighted to hear about the university's milestone. Alumni gathered to reminisce about Unisa's legacy as a leading open-distance learning institution and how it had transformed the lives of countless individuals who might not otherwise have had access to tertiary education. Their stories served as a poignant reminder of the university's enduring impact.
