Since its establishment in 1969, the Department of Communication Science of the University of South Africa has grown considerably and distinguished itself as a dynamic and credible leader in the field of communication science teaching. The Department is committed to making a difference in the lives of students and to contributing to the development of society by means of our teaching and research.
The Department’s academic staff has the necessary expertise to teach a variety of degrees ranging from undergraduate to Honours (specialising in either Media Studies or Integrated Organisational Communication), Masters’ and Doctoral qualifications, including a Diploma in Public Relations and specialised short learning programmes. Our flagship Bachelor of Arts in Communication Science degree (Qualification Code 98051) opens up opportunities to a variety of careers in the communication industry.
