Benefits of donating to the Library

The Unisa Library recognises all donors as Friends of the Library.

Friends of the Library receive:

  • recognition of generosity
  • invitations to special events, such as music and choral recitals
  • planetarium visits
  • Library tours
  • invitations to inaugural lectures and other lectures of interest
  • assurances that their gifts and donations will be appreciated and preserved
  • all donations are safely recorded in our official donations database
  • special membership of the Unisa Library

Special membership in the following donation categories is granted to donors per academic year:

R 500 - R1000 4 free day passes to visit the Library within one calendar year
R1000 - R3000 3 months' free day passes to visit the Library within one calendar year
R3000 + 1 year's free visits to the Library within one calendar year

Conditions for using Donor's special membership privilege

Admittance to the Library

You will need to purchase a Library admission card for R45-00.
You will need your special membership number, your ID or driver’s licence or passport for personal identification and an additional R10-00 for a temporary day pass.

Borrowing privileges 3 books may be borrowed at any one time for an average of two weeks (subject to the rules of the Collection from which the material is borrowed)

Regrettably no special searches are provided and reference works and audio-visual material may not be borrowed.
