Rules: Please enrol for the modules in the following sequence: ENN1504, BNU1501, CAS1501, MNB1501 and FAC1501, followed by the remaining modules. In addition to the above, all new students will have to enrol for CLA1503, students who have already passed CLA1501 in this qualification will retain the credit and will not be required to complete CLA1503. Candidates should note that during the course of their studies they will be required to have access to a computer with a webcam, and the internet. |

Purpose statement: This qualification is intended for candidates wishing to pursue a career in the field of accounting sciences but who are uncertain about the discipline in the accounting sciences that most interests them. Owing to the exposure to financial accounting, management accounting, auditing (including internal auditing) and taxation, qualifying students will be better equipped to select the discipline of their choice, either for further studies or when seeking employment once they have qualified. This qualification is also intended for candidates who consider their arithmetic, computing and English communication skills to be below par. Students will develop the necessary skills to perform basic duties under supervision in bookkeeping, costing, auditing and taxation. They will also acquire an understanding of management and administration principles. The purpose of this qualification is to enable qualifying students to: Perform basic functions under supervision in the field of accounting sciences, for instance, general bookkeeping, costing, auditing (including internal auditing) and tax calculations. Understand basic management and business administration concepts. Perform accounting calculations. Use a computer for basic business purposes. Communicate in English in the business world. |

Each Unisa qualification is structured in such a way that you need to pass a certain number of NQF level credits within a certain amount of time in order to graduate.
Pre-requisite: If Module A is a pre-requisite for Module B, you must pass Module A before you may register for Module B.
You may not register for more than the allowed maximum number of credits / modules per academic year and / or semester: 60 credits per semester or 120 credits per academic year.
The maximum number of credits do not include supplementary and / or aegrotat examinations from a previous semester. Modules taken for non-degree / non-diploma purposes also count towards the maximum number of credits allowed.
