Rules: An appropriate Bachelor's Degree or appropriate Advanced Diploma that includes one or more of the following as majors in the final year: Labour Relations, Industrial Relations, Employment Relations, Employee Relations, Labour Law or Industrial Sociology. HRM4801 has been replaced with HRM4802 from 2024. Students who have passed HRM4801 in this curriculum will retain the credit and will not have to register for HRM4802. Students should note that during the course of their studies they would be required to have access to a computer, printer and the internet. |

Purpose statement: The purpose of this qualification is to provide students who are in possession of an appropriate Bachelor's Degree or Advanced Diploma and relevant experience in the field of Labour Relations Management (LRM) with the opportunity to develop professional and specialised competencies in the field of Labour Relations Management. The Postgraduate Diploma in Labour Relations Management will enable them to independently identify, analyse and manage labour relations trends, practices and problems within the context of employment relations in any organisation. The Postgraduate Diploma in Labour Relations Management offers specialised academic and professional studies for candidates holding a relevant Bachelors' Degree, Advanced Diploma or equivalent qualification. The qualification should also enable graduates to be professionally registered with the South African Board for People Practice (SABPP) as an Employment Relations Practitioner. A student enrolled for the Postgraduate Diploma in Labour Relations Management will be actively engaged in becoming a well-rounded, educated person, actively engaged in an advanced study and/or the work environment as an employment relations practitioner. As such she or he will develop and hold certain values and be able to integrate general business knowledge and skills with specific knowledge of the human resource management profession, its processes and applications, to achieve his or her purposes. |

Each Unisa qualification is structured in such a way that you need to pass a certain number of NQF level credits within a certain amount of time in order to graduate.
Pre-requisite: If Module A is a pre-requisite for Module B, you must pass Module A before you may register for Module B.
You may not register for more than the allowed maximum number of credits / modules per academic year and / or semester: 60 credits per semester or 120 credits per academic year.
The maximum number of credits do not include supplementary and / or aegrotat examinations from a previous semester. Modules taken for non-degree / non-diploma purposes also count towards the maximum number of credits allowed.
