About the book

I was born in Bizana at Ludeke halt in Easten Cape. I studied at Emdeni primary school, Ezizityaneni higher primary school, Emfundisweni high School and did my matric at Lourdes high school. I did my tertiary studies at several institutions i.e., Themba nursing college (trained and appointed under Shongwe Hospital in Mpumalanga), University of Zululand (from the junior degree to Masters in Clinical Psychology - 1997), University of Pretoria (Masters in Public Administration - 2005 ) and University of South Africa (PhD in Criminal Justice - 2023). I also participated in the scholarship programme: The emerging leadership programme: University of Cape Town Graduate School of Business and Duke University of United States of America - Terry institute of Public Policy 2007/2008.

I created these poems as a strategy to release pain, frustrations and anger to cope with cyberbullying. I am sharing them for assisting anyone who is the victim of cyberbullying or any form of bullying. They reflect a therapeutic strategy which was utilised by the author. The experience shared through some poems may even be used to teach about the effects of cyberbullying. These experiences should not be generalised because the effects are individualistic.

I would like to extend my gratitude to John Hoover, the author of the book titled ‘How to work for an idiot: Survive and thrive without killing your boss”. I found this online book when I was at the peak of the psychological pain and distress with severe sleeplessness and hopelessness. Just by reading the introductory pages, I got an affirmation that I should not leave my workplace. I need to look for strategies of surviving. I have since encouraged several colleagues to read the book as it is empowering to the victims of workplace bullying.
