Rules: This qualification consists of 5 modules. This qualification can be completed in one year. Students choosing to do it over more than one year are advised to register for the Research Report in their final year of study. APY4801 and APY4813 is offered ONLY in Semester 1 of each year, and APY4802 and APY4804 is offered ONLY in Semester 2 of each year. Students must adhere to undergraduate enrolment dates. Students should note that during the course of their studies they would be required to have access to a computer or laptop, printer and the internet. |

Purpose statement: The purpose of the BA (Hons.) in Anthropology degree is to assist graduates with cultivating an attitude of critical thinking and to assist with building a base of analytical, communication, data management, planning, problem-solving, writing and other research methodology skills which is in conversation with discipline-specific sensitivities as well as being useful for gainful employment in a variety of roles outside of the academy. In particular, this degree is decolonial in intent and the facilitation of learning associated with it seeks to place students at the centre so that graduates will have been stimulated to begin the process of self-actualising production of knowledge which is epistemically just for the contexts within which they find themselves in. |

Each Unisa qualification is structured in such a way that you need to pass a certain number of NQF level credits within a certain amount of time in order to graduate.
Pre-requisite: If Module A is a pre-requisite for Module B, you must pass Module A before you may register for Module B.
You may not register for more than the allowed maximum number of credits / modules per academic year and / or semester: 60 credits per semester or 120 credits per academic year.
The maximum number of credits do not include supplementary and / or aegrotat examinations from a previous semester. Modules taken for non-degree / non-diploma purposes also count towards the maximum number of credits allowed.
