Rules: The College has replaced HMEMS80 with ECS4863, replaced HRBUS86 with HRFIN81 and removed BAN4801 as an elective from the curriculum. Students who have already passed (in this curriculum) the modules that have been replaced, will retain the credits and will not be required to complete the replacement modules. Students will be expected to have passed ECS3706 before attempting ECS4863. Students should note that during the course of their studies they would be required to have access to a computer, a printer and the internet. |

Purpose statement: This qualification has as the primary purpose of providing a well-rounded focused education that equips graduates with the knowledge base, theory and methodology of finance, investments, banking and financial institutions management, as well as risk finance, insurance, and research methodology that enables them to demonstrate initiative and responsibility in an academic or professional context. Principles, theory and application are emphasised as a basis for promotion by graduates in their place of work, or professional training, for example in order to eventually be awarded the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation. The qualification will further prepare students to advance to the Masters degree as they will be required to complete a module on conducting and reporting on research in Financial Management. |

Each Unisa qualification is structured in such a way that you need to pass a certain number of NQF level credits within a certain amount of time in order to graduate.
Pre-requisite: If Module A is a pre-requisite for Module B, you must pass Module A before you may register for Module B.
You may not register for more than the allowed maximum number of credits / modules per academic year and / or semester: 60 credits per semester or 120 credits per academic year.
The maximum number of credits do not include supplementary and / or aegrotat examinations from a previous semester. Modules taken for non-degree / non-diploma purposes also count towards the maximum number of credits allowed.
