Dr Otsile Ntsoane
Distinguished scholar of Indigenous Knowledge Systems and the social history of Batswana communities

Dr. Otsile Ntsoane is a distinguished scholar of Indigenous Knowledge Systems and the social history of Batswana communities. His research emphasizes knowledge ordering among Indigenous peoples, particularly the Bakgatla ba Kgafela and Barolong Boo Ratshidi.

He earned his PhD in 2004, conducting extensive studies among the !Xwe and Khwe in the Northern Cape. Dr. Ntsoane has contributed to heritage policy, language preservation, and IKS development in South Africa, publishing widely on Black communities during the Siege of Mafikeng.

He helped establish the Provincial Geographic Names and Heritage Resources Committees and served nationally on IKS policy drafting. Founder of KYS Heritage Consultancy, he continues producing influential works on cultural heritage and endogenous knowledge.
