Abu Saleh Mohammad Rafi, PhD, is a Visiting Research Fellow at the University of Groningen and Associate Professor of Linguistics at the University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh. He also serves as Senior Research Fellow on an Australian Research Council project on early language learning.

A transdisciplinary scholar, his expertise spans sociolinguistics, translanguaging, and critical AI studies, with a focus on decolonising language education and equity in multilingual societies. Dr. Rafi has published widely on translanguaging pedagogies, co‑edited volumes on linguistic justice, and delivered keynotes at institutions worldwide.

He convened the 2024 International Conference on the Trans‑phenomenon in Language, Literature, and Culture, and his recent works include a Routledge volume on professional learning and an article in English Today.
