Lungile Maile, a former manufacturing supervisor from Johannesburg, is the visionary founder of Nubian Smarts, an award‑winning educational game designed to make mathematics engaging and accessible for children. Her journey began in a bottled water factory, where she noticed that increasing machine complexity demanded higher educational skills, leaving many colleagues behind.

This observation sparked her mission to challenge the belief that math is too difficult to learn. Inspired by her young son, Sakhiwo, she set out to democratize math education, guided by the principle that enjoyment drives persistence: “If you fall in love with something, you keep applying yourself even if it’s hard.” Today, Nubian Smarts fosters a new generation of STEM enthusiasts.
