Professor Meahabo Dinah Magano
Full Professor in Psychology of Education

Professor Meahabo Dinah Magano is a Full Professor in Psychology of Education, passionate about teacher education and community engagement. With 22 years’ experience as a high school educator, head of department, deputy principal, and acting principal, she later worked at Heinemann Publishers as National Manager for Teacher Training.

She joined academia in 2007 at UJ, became Associate Professor in 2012, and Full Professor at UNISA in 2015. She has supervised over 30 postgraduate students, published widely, and coedited books. Prof Magano has held leadership roles including Chairperson of EASA and Unisa Women’s Forum, and currently serves as Executive Director for Tuition Support. Her awards include Woman of the Year (2014), Transformative Leader (2024), and Unisa Nation Builder (2023).
