Prof. Lorette Jacobs is Head of Tuition and Learner Support in the College of Human Sciences. She holds a PhD in Information Science and an MPhil in Higher Education from Stellenbosch University, with 30 years of industry and academic experience in archives, records, libraries, and knowledge management.

She has published over 30 articles, contributed to textbooks on research methodology, and supervised more than 50 postgraduate students. Her expertise includes ICTs in records management, information literacy, curriculum development, and teaching improvement.

She is skilled in diplomatics, digital records forensics, and digital curation. Her current research explores artificial intelligence in information science and digital humanities, while contributing to InterPARES and UNESCO’s Futures Literacy Learning Lab.
