Dr Phumza Maureen Makgato-Khunou
Director: Instructional Support Services at the University of South Africa (UNISA)

Dr. Phumza Maureen Makgato-Khunou is a Director and educator at the University of South Africa (UNISA), specializing in e‑Learning and ICT integration in education. She holds a PhD in e‑Learning and an Advanced Studies certificate in Online Teaching and Learning from the University of Oldenburg, Germany.

Since 2005, she has blended pedagogy and technology, serving as Deputy Director for User Education and Training in UNISA’s ICT Department and Head of the Centre for Professional Development. She led the training team during UNISA’s 2021 Learning Management System rollout. Her leadership extends to the Department of Basic Education as a Computer Applications Technology Specialist.

A Microsoft Innovative Educator, she advances digital teaching, researches educational technology, and empowers users through AI training.
